The following notes preferably refer to producing areas in the center and east, although they may be applicable to other regions that have experienced high rainfall.

Vine: how to combat possible deficiencies in iron and other elements

Abundant rainfall has caused waterlogging in some areas and generally made vines overgrow. In both cases the plant shows deficiencies in the form of yellowing of leaves, caused by deficit of iron absorption in most cases, but also of zinc and manganese.

In conventional agriculture, we have a multipurpose tool in NUTRIBALAT, a complex of microelements with 3% w/w iron, but which also contains Zn, Mn and other micronutrients constituting a complete corrector with excellent foliar application. Under the mentioned conditions, it is recommended to use it in the vineyard at a rate of 4 L/1,000 L (4 cc/L). To improve the results we also recommend its application with 1L/1.000 L (1 cc/L) of SM6 in order to improve the action of the microelements and the response to stress without increasing vegetative growth as it would happen with an amino acid.

To solve these problems our strategy in organic farming will be the use of ROMBIQUEL HIERRO and/or ROMBIQUEL ZN/MN EXTRA at a rate of 4L/1000 L (4 cc/L), also combined with SM6, with the same purpose as in the previous case.

Fruit trees: preventing calcium physiopathies

In fruit trees we are encountering campaign that involves generally poor setting of trees. This will result in larger fruit sizes, as well as calcium levels in fruit perhaps dropping due to increased vegetation. This can lead to the depreciation of the fruit due to physiopathies related to the mobility of calcium, damaging the quality of the fruit and future selling.

To combat this problem, PLYMAG recommends the application of 4 L/1000 L (4 cc/L) of ROMBIQUEL CALCIO mixed with SM6 at a rate of 1 L/1000L (1 cc/L) during the growth and maturation period.

An alternative that also improves the response to stress is BETAPRO at a rate of 2L/1000 together with the phytosanitary treatments with which it can be mixed.

Olive tree: how to prevent water stress and falling of fruit

The cultivation of the dryland olive grove, comes this year with abundant vegetation and has not been too affected by the spring rains in its flowering. In order to preserve its good hydric state, we recommend the application of BETAPRO at 4L/1000 L (4 cc/L), in the treatments against prays and olive tree fly (Dacus oleae) carried out throughout the summer. The experience of last year in this regard was very positive and prevented the falling of fruit, obtaining a greater harvest.
